With a few bend trials under their belt some of the clubs dogs attended their first bend open of the new season The Calgary Golden Jacket at Highgate Greyhound Stadium, Keith Woodward's homebred Just Paddy won his class in the No Limit, John & Fiona Marsden's good little bend dog Mad Jack won his class and finished 2nd in the Dog Final and Vicky & Mark's Beside the Point won her class and then went on to take the Bitch Final.
The following week we were back to Highgate for the South Yorkshire Bend Open where the club did well once again, incidently all our winners this week were homebred. Firstly Tony & Jacqui's Red Moon Rising winning her class in the veteran consolation, Keith's Anagram won her weight class and finished 2nd in the Bitch Final, Mark & Vicky's Midnight Maid won her class to finish 3rd in the bitch final and finally Linda's Twisted Sister ran superb to win her class and then go on to take the Bitch Final in fine style. All three bitch finalists being from our club.
