Good luck to all those who will be putting their charges through their paces over the next few weeks on the straights.
Not much support from the North West for this event, mainly due to it being so early in the season and the A & T odgs having had no straight running this year. Ken's Little Big Man ran well to gain his class in the 40lb Scratch and Linda's consistent performer Push the Button made it through to the main final of the event.
Good luck to all those who will be putting their charges through their paces over the next few weeks on the straights.

Big thanks to George, Craig, John & Keith for going over to do work on the track on Monday. There were parts of the track covering drains that needed digging up and raising and turf being laid which could only be done once work was completed by the footballers to their pitches. We've now been offered a temporary track to run on until our own track can be used and i believe this one is very good too. Both tracks were being rolled on Tuesday.
Congratulations to A & T dogs Push The Button, What's Your Rush, Maid Your Point who all gained their racing champion titles last weekend at Highgate Stadium with the latter two going on to gain Supreme in the Scratch and Veteran Categories. Congratulations also to Mad Jack & Anagram who made it to their class final
Good luck to our club dogs Moonbound, Just Paddy, Anagram, Push the Button, Twisted Sister, Hagler, Mad Jack, Ebony Expo, Maid Your Point, What's Your Rush, Midnight Maid, Short n Curly, Tall n Tiny & Whiskey Fudge who are all competing in the BWRA Bend Championships on Sunday at Highgate Greyhound Stadium.
Only one member travelled to this open and that was Linda Broom with her bitch Push the Button, keeping the North West Flag flying this on form bitch went on to win the bitch final and supreme on the day. Congratulations.
Brews & hot food on arrival again today, everyone having a catch up whilst entries were being taken.

Special thanks to those that donated raffle there were 8 prizes up for grabs and it proved popular so we'll do this again next week, also thanks to Keith, Craig, John, Mick, Tony, George & Mark who all helped out on the traps, trip and handslipping and everyone else who helped out in one way or other. It's nice to see the club getting so much support and lots of mad keen newcomers who seem to have been bitten by the racing bug - hope you all enjoyed your day. There will be a Greyhound & Whippet Shop opening in the next few weeks at the track and i'm sure Kev will do a roaring trade with us lot A brilliant turnout of 40 dogs for yesterdays meeting.
Beside the Point, Midnight Maid, What's Your Rush, Make it Four, Little Guess, Harry & a pedi all having handslips and chasing well - Harry coming on a treat in his training, extremely keen. The pedi's sorted their own racing out and all managed to get a couple of runs in. The track, although running slow due to being well salted and harrowed yesterday was looking great, a brilliant testament to the amount of work Kevin and his gang have put in. 57 greyhounds trialing this morning and no injuries. Hopefully see a lot of people at our open next Sunday so that they can see for themselves what a good safe track this is. Some more news of a mating in the North West from A & T member Ken Woodhead. His lovely blue bitch National Bend Champion Floless was mated to his own dog National Champion Boybelle today, all being well pups will be due on the 13th April.
